Jane Henderson Counselling

Welcome

I am a qualified integrative counsellor / psychotherapist offering in-person counselling in North London (NW5), and online within the UK.

Bottling up feelings about life’s past and present challenges and difficulties often seems easier and safer. We do this for many reasons, such as believing our emotions are insignificant or fearful of the outcome if we express our needs. And for some, it works. Yet, sometimes, it can lead to unexpected consequences, leaving us feeling trapped, knowing that something is not right but unsure of what.

Asking for help and sharing your vulnerabilities can be challenging. I’ve been there so I understand how it feels. That’s why I aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can share your narrative without fear of judgment so we can work towards achieving your goals and prioritizing your well-being.

About Me

Jane Henderson Counselling

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) I work within its ethical principles, values, and good practice standards.

My decision to train as a counsellor evolved through my life-changing experience of counselling, and volunteering in the mental health field. Through this, I observed that offering time and space helps others to meaningfully explore their own lives, leading to greater self-acceptance and profound healing.

In our sessions, I will listen empathetically and respectfully as you share your life stories at your own pace. We will explore emerging patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, including your relationship with yourself and others, to better understand where they come from and how they make you feel. This will help clarify aspects that no longer serve a purpose and inhibit you from moving forward.

We will work together on the changes you want to make and ways of bringing them to fruition. This will enable you to realise lasting, positive change that fits your values and desires as you progress towards your ideal

Offering an integrative approach means I draw on different modalities and customise and align sessions with your individual needs and preferences.

I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, abuse, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, loss, grief and bereavement, work stress, anger management, health anxiety, co-dependency, perfectionism, redundancy, life transition and addiction.

Sessions & Fees

I give a fifteen-minute introductory telephone consultation at no cost so you can get an idea if my approach is right for you. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little, and assess if we feel we can work together effectively.

I believe the relationship between counsellor and client truly matters and that how well we connect together is very important for the success of the therapy.

I offer online and in-person appointments (London NW5) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (day & evening) subject to availability, or by arrangement outside of these times.

The cost is £65 per fifty-minute session. £55 for student counsellors.

I offer some low-cost sessions so if you are on low income please contact me to discuss.
